Style
Engagement Photographer, Jeremy Underwood specializes in creative contemporary engagement photography. Many couples find that after they get engaged, they don’t have any professional photos of just the two of them. There’s something to be said for a well-lit, well-composed photograph, something a professional photographer can provide much better than the stranger you handed your camera phone to on your last vacation together.

The scene can be casual or formal, taken at a place that means something to both of you: maybe it’s the beach where you first held hands, or the park where you first kissed, or the restaurant where you proposed…the possibilities are endless.  Engagement photos are a nice contrast to the formal look of your wedding photos so it gives you a chance to have fun and experiment a bit.

Why do an engagement session
We know that if we have a chance to work together before the wedding, it will lead to better wedding photographs on that special day! As your Houston engagement photographer, we get to know your photography preferences, your personal style and just as important, what type of shots to avoid so we don’t waste time on the wedding day.

What to wear
There are two philosophies of thought here.  The first is the classic look.  Stay away from busy patterns…plaids, stripes, florals and checks.  You want to think simple and classic.  Solid dark colors tend to be timeless.  You know how you look back at the photos you have in the 1980’s and say “what was I thinking wearing that!”  Well, that is exactly what we want to avoid.  You want to be able to look back at these photographs in 10 or 15 years and still think the photos look great.  The second is the contemporary look.  Funky colors, stripes and plaids are all good here.  Modern clothes for a modern photographic look.

However, both styles abide by one rule…dress similarly.  We want you both to match each other in color and style.  Just pretend you are going to an event together.  We don’t want one of you dressed like you are going to the opera and the other dressed like you are going to a football game.  Nothing will stand out more in a photograph than when you are dressed differently than each other.  The idea is to focus on you, not the clothing.  Also, bring a few different outfits.  Variety is a good thing!div
